Snowdonia for Softies - Book by the end of May

The Capital Walkers and their friends are going to Snowdonia at the end of June.  Harriet's added more details about where we're staying and what we're doing.  More details here.

But hurry up and tell Harriet you want to go - there's a limited number of places available and booking closes at the end of the month.

Another Weekend Away Announced - Yorkshire Three Peaks

The Capital Walkers is proud to announce our latest weekend away - a long one in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales where, weather willing, we will attempt to conquer the Dales Three Peaks (Ingleborough, Pen-Y-Gent and Wherneside) and drink as much Black Sheep bitter as we want (other drinks are available).  We'll also ride some of the Settle-Carlisle railway and see the awesome Ribblehead Viaduct.

We're staying in Horton-In-Ribblesdale.  There's a fairly limited amount of accommodation available, so book soon and let Valeria know you're going.

Trip details are available here.

Capital Ring - Half way round already

Marie-Claude led 30 Capital Walkers and friends on two lovely sections of the Capital Ring on Saturday as part of the Capital Walkers ongoing walking of the ring.

Read about yesterday's walk in Donna's Diary.  Read more about how the Capital Walkers are doing the Capital Ring here.

Do you ever wish you were more confident with a map and compass?

A few weeks ago, nearly a dozen Capital Walkers spent a day in glorious weather in the Chilterns learning how to use a map and compass to find out where they are and how to get somewhere else, under the tutelage of our walks programme organiser, John.

Yesterday, some of them co-led a walk between Tring and Berkhamstead using their newly gained skills.  There are some fabulous pictures here (you'll probably need to be a member of our Facebook group to see them).

We'll probably run another course.  Keep an eye out for it in future programmes and communications.

Spring Programme Out Now

The Spring Programme was published at the end of March, containing details of walks, socials and weekends away from April to June, allowing recipients to plan their walking up to three months ahead.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to put something on in the programme and, especially, John, Donna, Dawn and Kate for overseeing the production and distribution of the programme.
