All Capital Walkers members receive emails from us, where the content forms part of your membership contract with Ramblers e.g., welcoming new members, annual general meeting notification, and telling you about our walks/socials/weekends away. You'll get these walks/events related emails automatically (whether you've opted in to receive marketing or not).

For all other types of communications (about eg volunteer/training opportunities, campaigns, etc), we will only send you such emails if you have opted in to receive them via your Ramblers account (My Account > Update profile > Contact preferences). Whatever contact preferences you set centrally apply to local groups as well. You can opt out from all non membership contract related (marketing type) emails from Ramblers and Capital Walkers at any time.

If you're a member of another group and want to be on our mailing list as well, please ask Ramblers Central Office to add you to the Capital Walkers members list as an Affiliate (you'll need to give them your name, email address, Ramblers membership number and parent group). Whatever contact preferences you set centrally apply to local groups (both your parent group and us) as well.

We automatically send Capital Walkers emails to the email address you have registered with Ramblers Central Office (we access their list direct and don't keep separate lists of our own).
