Capital Walkers invites you to join us for our annual New Year trip. Chester is set to welcome us from Monday 28th December 2026 to Saturday 2nd January 2027.
The area offers wonderful countryside and varied walking which includes the Sandstone Trail and the North Cheshire Way; North Wales is also within reach. Chester itself is an ancient city which features the most complete defensive city walls in Britain and unique two-tiered timber-framed galleries in the city centre known as the Rows. It is an extremely pleasing city to wander around, with a rich history, including a cathedral which was founded as a Benedictine Abbey in 1092 and the largest Roman amphitheatre to have been uncovered in Britain.
There are direct trains from London Euston and a variety of accommodation is available, including a Premier Inn close to the station, a range of hotels and Air B&Bs.Our walking programme will begin on Tuesday 29th December 2026 and finish on Saturday 2ndJanuary 2027. We will offer evening social events from Monday 28th December.Our venue for the New Year’s Eve celebration is the New Blossoms Hotel in Chester’s historic city centre.
Leave your Goretex and hiking boots behind and celebrate the New Year in style, starting with a canapé reception at 6pm. A sample menu promises a delicious and creative 3-course meal, with dietary requirements catered for. Dancing will follow, with the bar open until 12.30am and the option to move on to another bar in the hotel. The New Year’s Eve celebration is £67 per person and includes a welcome drink with canapés, a 3-course meal and a DJ who will provide our soundtrack as we dance into 2027.
To secure your place on the trip, the non-refundable amount of £67 is required by 30th August.
