Capital Walkers

As a walking group, Capital Walkers relies on our members for many roles including the walks we all enjoy. The rich program we offer is only possible because of the people who offer to lead walks. And we need more people to do this.

Walk leading is a great way to contribute to Capital Walkers whilst gaining new skills and we will assist and support you along every step of you leading your first walk. There is no fine print to read or commitment to leading a certain number of walks.

If you have ever considered leading a walk but are not quite sure where to begin, join us on Tuesday 7th July from 7-9pm for a Walk Leader Training Night. New(ish) walk leaders are also very welcome to join us and to share some of your experiences and tips.

Topics which may be covered include: choosing a walk, digital/paper navigation, Ramblers training requirements, First Aid requirements (not First Aid training which is another event) Walk Manager, dogs on walks, recce walks and how to lead your first walk.

There will be ample time to ask questions of experienced walk leaders.

You need to book your place for this event, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.to confirm your attendance.

The evening is being held in a central location with a bar where drinks may be purchased. Finger food will be supplied. The actual location will be made available to attendees.

We look forward to you joining us for this evening and in the meantime hope that you enjoy some of the walks on our program.

Happy walking
