With Christmas less than 11 months away it is time to begin planning how you will kick off the festive season in 2026. Join me for a weekend break in Vienna discovering and enjoying the Christmas Markets.
 
Situated on the river Danube, influenced by the Habsburg dynasty, home to many composers including Beethoven and Mozart, Freud, The Spanish Riding School, schnitzel and Sachertorte, Vienna has something for everyone. From incredible architecture and rich history to river cruises and cafe culture to enjoy, our three days will be as busy as you want them to be.
 
Our trip formally begins early on Friday afternoon with a walking tour of some Viennese highlights before we explore some of the many renowned markets for the evening. The full program will be made available to those who commit to the trip and will consist of an optional early walk each morning followed by time to explore the city including visits to St Stephen's Cathedral and at least one of the many palaces. We will meet mid afternoon to spend time together at the Christmas Markets where unique gifts, food and entertainment are all readily available.
There will be no expectation that members on the trip will stick to the program, you are free to organise activities for yourself or with others. With a world class Opera House, palaces, Cathedrals and more, there is something here for everyone.

There are direct flights to Vienna from all London airports, a good public transport system linking the airport and city, and a selection of hotels to suit all travellers. I suggest booking as early as possible, once your place on the trip is confirmed. I am arriving in Vienna early on Friday 4th December and leaving early evening on Sunday 6th December. Extending the trip is of course an option if you choose to.
 
These places will be allocated on a first in basis and there is no requirement of any contribution to Capital Walkers for this trip.
